The 2022 DAPP
We’re excited to present this third edition of the Diversity Among Philanthropic Professionals (DAPP) Report! Based on anonymous self-reporting from individuals, the DAPP provides grantmakers with a snapshot of the 2022 philanthropic workforce and helps participating foundations accurately assess the culture and climate of their institutions.
At a glance, the findings of the 2022 DAPP are very similar to the findings from the 2020 DAPP. There are, however, some notable differences.
The 2022 DAPP saw an increase in:
- “Decline to state” and “multiple identities” responses across identity factors, but most compellingly in sexual orientation and disability status.
- “Different identities” responses across several identity factors, but most compellingly in sexual orientation.
- Respondents writing in “queer” as their sexual orientation.
- The percentage of respondents with disabilities, which nearly tripled over 2020 findings–, from 12.6 percent in 2020 to 34.2 percent in 2022.
For the first time, the 2022 DAPP also features quotes from survey respondents that add context to their responses.
Enjoy exploring the report!
